How Hamden Rotary Club Tours Helps

Since 1995 the Rotary Club of Hamden Foundation has been among the District 7980 leaders in donations to the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International as well as to local projects and to international projects

Support from Hamden Rotary Tours enables the Rotary Club of Hamden to further it's mission at home by offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated "Service Above Self" through service to their community.

Needy communities around the globe also benefit.

In Peru, free vision screenings are offered and eyeglasses are provided to those who demonstrate need.

In Nicaragua, sustainable gardens are planted and villagers are taught skills to carry them on for a lifetime.

In Haiti, housing is provided as are tools and knowledge imparted to villagers so they can continue to build for others.

In Mexico, Project Amigo has provided scholarships to needy students.

In India, the bio-sand filter project provides clean water to entire villages. Schools, town centers and homes have received the devices which have made enormous improvements in the health of the recipients. Most recently, a strong campaign has been funded to improve hygiene by providing soap and information on it's use. Desks and pencils have been given to schools where there were none and students sat on the floor.
